My moms birthday is on Mothers Day

Today is May 10,2011. My mom's birthday is today. Today is also mother's day, which should be a joyous day since I am a mother too. But my mother passed away June 7,2005, so instead of getting her a birthday cake I placed flowers on her grave. I tried to enjoy the day, but there was a hole in my heart. Something was missing while I was celebrating the day with my daughters and granddaughter. My joy was tempered with saddness feeling the loss of my mom. I miss her laugh, her unconditional love, and the way she lit up a room when she came in. She was my best friend and confidant. I hope they have birthday cakes in heaven and she is looking down on me trying to help me feel her presence.
